Pool, posts and puppies
So summer is coming and finally the pool refurb is finished, the water is surprisingly warm and I think looks quite exotic with the palms around it, the sun loungers just arrived yesterday and I took this pic after about an hour of removing bubble wrap which I assume had been on them since being packed up in China! I even had my first morning dip in it this week, the water was 24C at 7am! Realised I am not as “swim-fit” as I used to be…
In other news we’ve had some new additions at White Water. Firstly, our Indian runner ducks have started a family and ducklings hatched about a week ago. Hoping they survive as they apparently are keen on snails so will eventually will be set to work in the vegetable garden…
Rob has been working hard getting our post and rail installed. In fact, I told a local friend (who will remain nameless) that he had been fencing all week and she thought it was very glamorous for farm life until I explained it was not the sport but actually putting up fences… So we were then able to take delivery of our re-homed racehorses from a nearby stud. These fine chaps are now resident – Coconut Man, Fire Engine and Oratius.
Lastly but not least we welcomed the ginger ninjas – Churchill and Chester – our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies. They are absolutely loving farm life and running around like mad things until they exhaust themselves and take a nap….
I wish I had their life, we have been very busy finishing off rooms and getting through a seemingly endless snag list… The Dairy Suites now are pretty much complete and hopefully melding a farm style with contemporary quirkiness by using old latte from around the farm to make the headboards, re-covering chairs in two-tone jute and a slice of blue gum for a coffee table.
Next focus is getting the restaurant and chapel ready for season, keep watching….
